YOGA WITH ELDOA™
Learn an invigorating sequence of myofascial release exercises to decompress your spine and get your energy flowing, developed by groundbreaking osteopath Guy Voyer DO. This is an upbeat class set to music closing with a relaxing yoga nidra. Suitable for all levels, including absolute beginners.
Lou discovered ELDOA™ in 2018 while visiting her alma mater YogaWorks in Santa Monica, California. ELDOA is a revolutionary stretching and rehabilitative technique developed by French Osteopath Guy Voyer, DO. ELDOA is a French acronym that translates to Longitudinal Osteo-Articular Decoaptation Stretching. The sequence of postures target the decompression of specific joints throughout the body. ELDOA are postural normalisation exercises that you can do yourself with a goal to increase the space within, and to relieve and normalise tension around a targeted joint. As a certified ELDOA student practitioner, Lou integrates these postures into a new Therapeutic Yoga course developed to help clients with any back pain, scoiliosis, sciatica and other spine-related injuries.
WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM REGULAR ELDOA PRACTICE?
Everybody benefits from regular ELDOA practice. This is simply because we are affected by gravity all day long and ELDOA is the only exercise that actively addresses the negative consequences of gravity on the joints of the body.
While anyone will benefit from regular ELDOA practice, we particularly recommend ELDOA for:
• People with postural imbalances such as compression from sitting at a desk most of the day (which decreases blood flow to lumbar spine and hips)
• People with limited Range of Motions
• People with chronic pain, such as low back, neck, hip, spine etc.
• Members of the athletic community, both recreational and professional
